About the Museum

Inaugurated in 1982, Centro Cultural São Paulo is one of the first multidisciplinary cultural centers in the country. Public place par excellence, it combines the offer of programming and cultural services - free or at affordable prices - with the availability of its spaces and facilities for a plural, free and purposeful use for its visitors, provoking a reflection on the role of spaces and public services in the promotion of culture, creativity, citizenship and autonomy in a city with the dimensions of São Paulo. The project, conceived in the 1970s by a team of architects led by Eurico Prado Lopes and Luiz Telles, had references from major multidisciplinary international cultural centers and had extensive research on the conditions of access and proximity to the culture of the population of São Paulo.
