About the Museum
The Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) is Ireland’s leading national institution for the collection and presentation of modern and contemporary art. It opened its doors in 1991, and has since amassed a collection that features works by the likes of Marina Abramovic and Roy Lichtenstein. The Dublin-based museum also collects contemporary work by Irish artists, aiming through its eclectic exhibition programme to shine a light on issues in Irish society. IMMA is an increasingly significant player in the Irish and international arts scenes, dedicated to supporting new artists’ work as well as nurturing emerging talents, new thinking and new forms of exhibition-making.
