About the Museum

The KW Institute for Contemporary Art was established in the last decade of the 20th century as an exhibition space focused on the production and development of contemporary art. An institution built by artists, the KW presents itself as a dynamic space for engagement with national and global cultural discourse. Discovery and exchange play key roles in the mission of the KW and the institution regularly collaborates with major international institutions, such as MoMA PS1 in New York, the Venice Biennale and Documenta.
