About the Museum


The Lëtzebuerg City Museum is a museum of society that brings together a variety of collections. He undertakes to collect, preserve and document the cultural heritage (tangible and intangible) of the city of Luxembourg, the 10th century to the present day that it exposes permanently by situating it in a national, regional and European context, both historical and contemporary. In its temporary exhibitions, it deals with socio-cultural topics that respond to the current concerns of its multicultural public, local and foreign. By proposing as a forum for an engaged debate on both urban heritage and societal issues, it helps to develop the cultural identity of the capital and strengthen its role as a pole of attraction in the region. It is understood as one of the actors of the sustainable development of the city.
