About the Museum
Founded two centuries ago, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts in Belgium hold some 20,000 paintings, sculptures and drawings. The Ancient Art Museum (XV-XVII centuries) features an extensive collection of Flemish paintings, including works by Pieter Bruegel the Elder and Rogier van der Weyden, Robert Campin, Anthony van Dyck and Jacob Jordaens. Its 'Rubens Room' features more than twenty paintings by the artist. At the end of 2013, the institution’s Modern collection flowered anew in the Musée Fin de Siècle, which will showcase masterworks representing Belgium’s artistic heritage from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
