About the Museum
Museo della Moda e del Costume (Fashion and Costume Museum) is housed in the small building of the Meridiana, one of the pavilions of the Pitti Palace overlooking the Boboli Gardens. The Costume Gallery was founded in 1983 and is home to more than six thousand pieces, including clothing and fashion accessories from the eighteenth century to the present.
Note: The museum will be partially open to the public from Tuesday 13 November to Sunday 18 November (only the rooms 1-6 of the first corridor will be visible).
It will be completely closed from Monday 19 November 2018 until 7 January 2019 due to the arrangement of a new exhibition.
