About the Museum

The Museu Brasileiro de Escultura (MuB) or Brazilian Museum of Sculpture and Ecology, was created from the granting of the land, located between Avenida Europa and Rua Alemania, by the São Paulo City Hall to SAM - Society of Friends of Museums in 1986, for the construction of a Cultural Center of Sculpture and Ecology. In order to choose the design of the Museum building, a contest was won by Paulo Mendes da Rocha. The MuBE was born and its building became a landmark of the world architecture and that also counts on the garden designed by Roberto Burle Marx.
