About the Museum

Spain's Royal Academy of History holds, as its mission, to forward the study of the history of Spain, as reflected in its founding statutes. Collected coins, epigraphs and historical documents, mostly of Spanish origin, including some as famous as the Corinthian hull of the Ría de Huelva, the "Disco de Teodosio," the veil of Hixem II or the ivory ark of D. Martín de Aragón, are all present in the collection of the Royal Academy of History. In addition, a collection of paintings and engravings, in which portraits of Goya stand out, are on display.
