Exhibition Overview

A Collection in Progress

This year the installation begins with a section devoted to the monochrome, ranging from Yves Klein to Irma Blank, from Piero Dorazio to Marca-Relli; this will be followed by a homage to the French artist Arman with works from the height of the 1960s, as well as by a chapter on the representation of the face with portraits and self-portraits by Marisa Merz, Markus Schinwald, Jimmie Durham, and Gino De Dominicis; lastly, after crossing several rooms visitors will find a revisitation in white of the research conducted by Gruppo Zero compared with the works of Tauba Auerbach and Wolfgang Tillmans (on view this year at the solo show held at the Fondazione Beyeler in Basel).

Visitors will be able to see the works they are already familiar with along with other more recent acquisitions; this constant dialogue is what expresses the collectors’ desire to convey to the viewer their choices and their emotions, thereby clarifying what the idea of a A Collection in Progress means to them.
