About the Museum

HenryFord_Interior_Dearborn

The Henry Ford Museum is an internationally recognized cultural destination that brings the past to the present by exploring stories of ingenuity, resourcefulness, and innovation that helped shape America. The indoor and outdoor history museum complex houses four distinct venues: Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation, Greenfield Village, Ford Rouge Factory Tour, and the Benson Ford Research Center. The impressive collection is comprised of artifacts from 300 years of American history, including the presidential limousine of John F. Kennedy, Thomas Edison’s laboratory, and the Rosa Parks bus, among others. It was designated a national historic landmark in 1981. Greenfield Village was the first outdoor museum of its type in the nation and explores how Americans have lived and worked since the founding of the country. The Village includes buildings from the 17th century to the present, which are staffed by costumed interpreters.
