Fashioned from Nature - Creating the campaign

Go behind the scenes of the Paris photoshoot with artist Vee Speers, and discover what went into creating the distinctive images used in the advertising campaign for the V&A’s Fashioned from Nature exhibition. The film gives a glimpse of the complex process including the photoshoot with the live models, plants and animal skulls, and the V&A conservation studios where the garments were shot separately. Vee works with analogue photography and used a vintage Mamiya Press camera from the 80’s and black and white 665 polaroid negative film to achieve the rich grain and texture of the images. The shots of the models and garments had to be merged together and hand coloured in order to achieve the final result. You can see Fashioned from Nature at the V&A until 27 January 2018.
