Clarinda Carnegie Art Museum

About the Museum

Robert and Karen Duncan are two prominent collectors in the American heartland who have spent the past thirty years building a collection of over 2,000 artworks by a varied cast of artists such as Kiki Smith, Bruce Nauman, Bernar Venet and Sophie Ryder. With the purpose of providing Clarinda and the Southwest of Iowa a space where arts would enrich the region through educational programming and premier art exhibitions, they created the Clarinda Carnegie Art Museum, a space that celebrates the historical significance of the Clarinda Carnegie Library building, making its content available to the community as a cultural and educational center.
