The Dallas Museum of Art is one of the largest art museums in the US, with nearly 160,000 sq ft of exhibition space and a collection comprising more than 24,000 objects from around the world, dating from the third millennium BCE to the present day. Highlights include an extensive American art collection, including works by Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe and Frederic Edwin Church; fine paintings by European modernists such as van Gogh and Mondrian; important examples of design and decorative art; objects from Asia, Africa and the Pacific Islands; and a landmark mosaic by Miguel Covarrubias from 1952, which adorns the museum’s main entrance.
