Housed in the former home of Margaret and Hugo Dixon and situated on 17 acres of land, the Dixon Gallery and Gardens opened its door to the public in 1979, becoming a diverse and innovative centre for art and horticulture. With a collection devoted to works by late 19th- and early 20th-century French and American masters and a botanical park with over 60 labelled and identified trees, the Dixon is today an established cultural institution in the heart of Memphis.
