About the Museum
Opened to the public in 2014, the Fondation Louis Vuitton is a private art museum and the home of Bernard Arnault’s collection of contemporary art. The building was conceived by Frank Gehry, designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding 19th-century parkland. While there is not a permanent collection on display, the Fondation’s exhibition program comprises shows centered around both Arnault’s own collection – which is divided into categories of Contemplative, Pop, Expressionist and Music & Sound – and works loaned from international collections bringing together some of the finest works of art from the past two hundred years. Alongside exhibitions, the Fondation Louis Vuitton runs a series of workshops dedicated to music and dance, with live performances held in the purpose-built 1000-capacity auditorium.
