Designed by architect and collector Corbett Lyon, the Lyon Housemuseum is a unique combination of private residence and contemporary art museum in Kew, Australia. On private tours, visitors are invited to explore both the property and works of contemporary art, architecture and design, including works from the Lyon Collection. This collection is considered one of the most significant in the country and offers an insight into the development of Australian contemporary art from 1900 to the present. Through its juxtaposition of art and living, the Housemuseum seeks to challenge ideas of what constitutes public and private space and explore new relationships between art and the contexts in which it is viewed.
