About the Museum
Leaving the Cathedral one finds the entrance to this museum: divided into two floors, it offers visitors the testimony of the various phases of the history and art of the monastery. Most of the exhibited objects are the result of complex work carried out over time which gave rise to a harmonious set of objects, artifacts and other works restored and protected especially after the last destruction. The current headquarters of the Museum was founded in 1980 and is continuously renewed over the years according to museographic criteria. The extent of the exhibited works is not monothematic because the Museum collects in a single structure with different sections covering a period of time that goes approximately from the 6th century BC until the present day.
