Marilyn

Andy Warhol (1928-1987) is back in the Museum Brandhorst. Parallel to the individual exhibitions of Kerstin Brätsch and Seth Price, the Warhol highlights of the Brandhorst Collection can be seen in the cabinets on the ground floor. The exhibition opens up deeper insights into the heritage of the pop art icon. The counterpositions of works by Andy Warhol with contemporaries and followers such as Alex Katz (* 1927), Louise Lawler (* 1947), Keith Haring (1958-1990), Cady Noland (* 1956) and Jeff Koons (1955) Aftermath of his œuvre. The literary superficiality of the Starkult imagery, the eccentric identity images of the LGBT community in Warhol's Factory, as well as the violence of and in media images, had been topics in Andy Warhol's work since the early 1960s.
