About the Museum


Museum of Private Collections, under the Department of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, has the representative collection of Russian and foreign art from 15th to 20th centuries. The exposition of the museum includes a vast collection of sculptures and graphics together with decorative arts. The exhibition features more than thirty private collections from donors since the 1980s.

Currently, the museum collection has more than seven thousand works of Russian and Western European art from the 15th to 20th centuries. This includes paintings, graphics, sculptures, applied art and artistic photography. Collections differ in their orientation and structure. They are divided according to the types of art, among them are monographic and thematic.
