About the Museum
Established in 2001 in an elegant mansion on New York City’s Museum Mile, Neue Galerie presents early-20th-century German and Austrian art and design. Second-storey galleries are dedicated to art from Vienna circa 1900, and explore the special relationship that existed then between the fine and decorative arts. Third-storey galleries feature various early-20th-century German art movements, including the Blaue Reiter, the Brücke and the Neue Sachlichkeit, as well as applied arts from the Werkbund and the Bauhaus. This in an intimate boutique museum, which is among the finest of its kind in the world.
