Exhibition Overview

Still life in painting: an imitation exercise for painters lacking ambition? It was much more since avant-garde artists became interested in this genre to introduce radical changes in the field of painting. For the first time, this retrospective presents a portrait of four centuries of still lifes and proposes a discovery of the most beautiful pieces: from the first still lifes of the seventeenth century to the formal experiments of Picasso, Dalí, Miró or other more recent works by Spanish artists including the personal interpretations of Velázquez and Goya.
