About the Museum
Like no other castle, Rheinsberg impresses with its picturesque location on the Grienericksee. Here, nature, architecture and art combine to form a harmonious ensemble. Numerous works of art adorn the premises of the castle and invite to a journey into the time of the 18th century. Extensive restoration work has succeeded in recent years in recovering the original room decorations from the Frederician period (around 1740) as well as the Early Classicist room settings (around 1786) created under Prince Heinrich. Together with the paintings and handicraft objects exhibited here, they convey an impression of the living culture, the feeling of life and the collecting activity of the former owners.
